Web Services: Integrating Voice Solutions with the Enterprise
Web services are rapidly supplanting proprietary enterprise application integration (EAI) solutions as the leading application integration technology for enterprise applications. Web services have become a critical way to integrate interactive voice response (IVR) and other voice solutions with enterprise applications and to leverage existing enterprise IT assets.
Web Services with Envox 7
Envox 7 supports the XML, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and Web Services Description Language (WSDL) protocols that make Web services possible. In addition, Envox 7 provides the following capabilities to enable developers to leverage Web services within voice solutions:
- Call a Web service. A voice solution can interact with any Web service provider on the Web.
- Act as a Web service provider. Any enterprise application that relies on Web services for application-to-application interactions can access and use the services exposed by the Web service interface to load and start scripts, call subroutines, get and set variables, and notify channels.
